Welcome Friends Of Jim Beck!

The late, great Jim Beck passed away just on Jan. 12, ’08. For many of us, there still is not a day when we don’t think about quacking rabbits, Norwegian goggles, or some unique experience we had with him.  Indeed, Jim touched the lives of countless people throughout the area, from Little League teams to men’s leagues, from players and coaches, to the many charitable organizations he supported over the years.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Jim’s friends, teammates, colleagues and family, the Jim Beck Memorial Project has been a resounding success, raising a total of $6,455.94.  We were able to provide a check in the amount of $4,747.10 to National Memorial Park for Jim’s marker and make a donation to KylesKamp.org in the amount of $1708.84. KylesKamp.org is dedicated to raising funds for leukemia care and research at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC.

A bronze plaque mounted on a marble stone has been installed in the National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA. To view photos of the marker and for info on finding the site at National Memorial Gardens, please click here.

We plan to keep this website open for some time to come as a place where we can continue to remember Jim and to continue to share stores.  We have added a new Tab at the top called “Stories” where we can recount

If you would like to contribute a story to this website, please don’t hesitate to email Jerry or Gary.
